OMG! You've got The Color Green Syndrome... and it's killing yourbusiness, absolutely killing it!

by  Dr. Jeffrey Lant
Author's program note. Are you one of the billion or so people worldwide who's been blaming the recession for all your woes, including that pimple on your back you popped... but should have left alone? Then this article is for YOU... and not a moment too soon either. In it, we're going to examine just what you did yesterday to make money and whether you were focused on what you should have been focused on...  or whether you had succumbed to one of the greatest of business maladies of all time: the pernicious Color Green Syndrome.
To put you in the mood to deal with this problem and to root it out of your business and life, I'm calling up Stevie Wonder, particularly his 1982 song "Do I Do".  (Go find it in any search engine; use the long -- 10 1/2 minute -- version that features Dizzy Gillespie.) It's guaranteed to get you up, breathing deep, gliding across your floor with a practised dexterity you didn't know was in you. Good! For this article and the resurrection of your business you need all the right moves... and Stevie is going to help you get them... as I am.
Are you suffering from The Color Green Syndrome? I bet you are... and it's killing you.
What is this condition that's worse than any plague, that'll knock you for a loop faster than any flu... yea verily, that will cripple your enterprises more assuredly than the IRS or any other government intervention? Listen, my children, and you shall learn it here, find out how to perceive it, deal with it, eradicate it forever and so soar....
The heart and soul of your business is two things, just two things you must know and do EVERY single day without fail, every day that is when you want to use your business for what your business is for: making money, making money, oh yes, making money. Ou la la!
Okay, let's dig in, in the spirit of medical research and solution. The two things you must do EVERY day in your business are to 1) generate prospects and 2) close those prospects. Nothing -- absolutely NOTHING -- is as fundamental to your success as this. So, let's take a sustained gander at what you did yesterday to grow your business and reap rewards from it... and whether The Color Green Syndrome laid you low.
How the Syndrome got its name.
According to my trusty and much used dictionary, syndrome is defined as an aggregate or set of concurrent symptoms together indicating the presence and nature of a disease. One of the most destructive and insidious of these syndromes is the subject of this article. Here's how it was discovered and named.
A person not unlike you came to visit me one day, asserting with vehemence and vigor that he wanted to make money online. To do so he knew he needed tools, training, traffic and ongoing help, and he paid me to provide them. I got down to business with a will; I am a man who believes in action, action now... and so in due course I presented him with a website that was 100% focused on stopping prospects in their tracks, motivating them to take notice, leave complete follow-up details (the better to have and develop those essential prospect lists) ... and move like greased lightning to get the stupendous offer I had persuaded him to make.
But things, begun so auspiciously, slowed to a snail's pace -- or slower -- at this moment. Why? "Because the green you selected for the background color isn't the green I want. Show me some others."
And so began the descent into madness and the unraveling of a great enterprise with a killer website standing at the ready to make lucre, and a lot of it.
The client didn't like the green... but wanted to show his partner... who definitely didn't like the green...
One requested one green; the other requested another. And while they reviewed, considered and discussed the virtues and winning attributes of greens ranging from apple green... chartreuse... hunter green... Islamic green.... fern green... Paris green... Shamrock green and several dozen other greens, far more greens than either you, me, or the customer even knew existed...  their business stopped. So important was getting just the precise shade that all other matters, including the prosaic little matter of generating prospects, closing prospects, making money fell by the wayside... prospects ungenerated, offers unmade, sales non existent... until just the right green surfaced, was seen, discussed, selected, and shown off.
"So sad, but what has this to do with me?", you ask.
You will recall that a syndrome is an aggregate of symptoms... and so it is here. The Color Green Syndrome can easily morph into any of the following conditions:
"I cannot generate prospects, call prospects, close prospects, until..."
* I have 2 cups of coffee, not a drop more or less;
*  I have watched my favorite television program, never missing a minute or an episode:
* My dog is walked, my newspaper read, my toast prepared just so (and oh if my favorite jam is gone).
"I cannot generate prospects, call prospects, close prospects until I've...."
* called my children;
* fluffed my pillows;
* considered lunch and dinner menus.
And several million other situations, conditions, "really important things" that (by definition and sanctified usage) are important, way more important than doing what's necessary to generate prospects... contact prospects... close and make deals with prospects.
Don't say you aren't subject to this malady. This is Dr. Lant you're talking to, your friend, ultimate realist.... and we both know better, don't we? You've got a bad case... and blaming it on the recession just passed -- or anything else -- just isn't good enough....
So, unless you're prepared to let The Color Green Syndrome (in any of its many manifestations) continue to undermine your business, you've got to change your ways... today... and I've asked Stevie Wonder to assist.
START with the two essential money-making activities --- generating leads, calling leads -- BEFORE you do ANYTHING else. Treat the prospects you'll generate like this:
"When I see you on the street My whole body gets weak."
In short treat that all -important prospect like the lover you cannot wait a single minute to contact... and make this kind of offer:
"Yes I got some honey suckle chocolate dripping kisses full of love for you."
Go on, try it. It's the only way to eradicate The Color Green Syndrome and focus on the only green that matters in business... the green backs your new moves and attitude are sure to deliver. Now turn up Stevie Wonder... and dance! After all, as soon as you generate and call all those prospects, you're going to make a whole lot of money today.... and that calls for boogie!

How to Create Blog Titles that DEMAND attention!

If you are going to spend the time it requires to blog then you want to make certain your time is for the maximum return.
You want readers right? You want your blog to be shared in social media right? You want more  traffic so  you  earn more money right?
Smart bloggers who earn considerable revenue from their blogs, know it's critical to have well-thought blog titles.
Here I share some critical points about writing blog titles so you get noticed among the millions of blogs out there.
For effective blog titles do this:
A great blog title gets the readers attention then draws them in so they actually read your blog. Remember, some web sites, readers and devices like cell phones and iPad aps, show only the title of your blog. Your introduction or summary of what the blog is about may not even appear so your title better be instantly eye-popping and interesting. If readers see only your title, and your title is lame, you are less likely to get readership. Instead make your title catchy, one that immediately conveys what the blog is about so readers think you are click-worthy. Be sure that your title is not word-heavy but is clear and obvious. Readers what to know right away what you have to offer and if its worthy of their precious time to read. When you read my examples below you will get a better understanding of what goes into a Blog Title that DEMANDS readership.
Creating blog titles that will get indexed by search engines, and read by people.
When creating your titles you want to use as many key words related to your blog content as you can. Before you even start your blog post, think about who you want to read this post and what key words are relevant to your purposes and to your audience. If your blog is targeting a specific audience, try to work that into the title so your title speaks and says to the individual - HEY READ ME! If you want people to read your blog who are looking for specific key words related to what you offer, work those key words into the title.
Consider that people are busy, often they prefer short, easy to read blog posts. Ensure if you can that your blog title relays this by summarizing what you blog includes.
Don't compromise the value of your key words by being too creative in your title, make sure they are included in your title. With Google recently announcing that fresh content contributes to higher page ranking,  you want to make sure if your blog is about a trending topic, a news event, or breaking news, that it gets scanned first. You can help this happen by integrating the most obvious key words in your title so your blog gets scanned by Google and other search engine bots.
Finally, an important reason to give some thought to use of key words within your Blog title is this.  If you have any type of monetization on your blog, such as Google's Ad Sense, the key words you use will trigger specific related topic ads to appear on your site. This is beneficial to you, as ads that appear on your blog are more closely matched to your Ad Sense ads which offers you somewhat of an advantage for potential earning through clicks on the ads that appear on your blog.
Convey what your Blog is about with a smart title.
In your Blog title, say exactly what your content is in an enticing way. If you can find a clever way to shock, or make someone take notice within your Blog title, do so. For example, offer 7 Tips, or 10 Strategies, or 10 Ways to Drop 10 Pounds.  This style of titling is a good way to convey that your blog is brief but includes valuable information. For some blog titles you may find it helpful to convey a sense of urgency so readers gets the feeling they will miss out on some really good, juicy or helpful information if they don't read it. Celebrity gossip and Hollywood bloggers are particularly good at dangling carrots (celebrity names with a hint of scandal) within their blog titles to attract readership.
You may be thinking to yourself, WHOA! She is asking for a lot to be incorporated into a simple blog title! Yes, I am but it is easy if you know how to do it, you will get better at it as you go and your results will reward and motivate you. It's for your own good - really. To help you get started, I've included 6 examples of effective and less effective blog titles below.
Example 1
Strong : How to grow roses that make your neighbours green with envy.
Weak:    How to grow roses.
Example 2
Strong: 7 Sure-Fire Ways to get rid of allergies for good!
Weak:   Allergies: a problem experienced by 30% of Americans
Example 3
Strong:  The TOP 10 BEST Hotels in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
Weak:    Going to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan? Here's our picks for the best hotels.
Example 4
Strong: 5 Strategies That Will Triple Your Sales Today!
Weak: Looking for ways to increase your sales? We have what you need to know.
Example 5
Strong: Why Herman Cain can kiss the Presidency good-bye!
Weak:  US Presidential candidates, a look at who's running, the favourites and the predicted losers.
Example 6
Strong: 10 PROVEN Ways to Shed Weight FAST! Hollywood Celebrities do this, you can too!
Weak:  If you really do want to lose weight, we can help you.
See, it's not so hard. Spending a few extra minutes to think and tweak your Blog Titles will get you more readers, more traffic and more revenue!
**** What do you think? Do you use catchy titles for your blogs? What is your experience?

How a perky housewife from Minnesota gets up to 5,000 responses toher blog each and every day... and how you can do as well, or even better!

By Dr. Jeffrey Lant
Author's program note. This is the tale of someone who has achieved the kind of astonishing online results and amazing ongoing traffic that you wish you had. Her name is Diane Dohrn and she's one of the handful of residents from Grygla, Minnesota (population 228)... a place that looks like a suburb of Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon... the town where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.
For this article, therefore, I selected some music by perennial local favorite Lawrence Welk and his Champagne Music Makers. Go to any search engine and find his signature tune "Bubbles in the wine." Sit back in your recliner and enjoy the effervescence of the lady from Grygla and a success story that'll make you smile....with all the necessary details so you can match her already great and always growing success.
When I first met Diane...
I first met Diane Dohrn a little over 18 months ago when she came to me seeking my help and advice about how to succeed online. Frankly, she needed all of the assistance I could provide; she was in a bad way just then in her life and fortune. She told me a story so typical on the 'net as to be endemic... She'd been in this opportunity; she'd been in that. She had paid out thousands and reaped pennies. She had no tools for success... no traffic... she'd never had a moment's training... and, until my advent, she'd had absolutely no one to assist her. And now she was desperate... with acute family difficulties... and her own disability to contend with. In short, she had nowhere to go but... up.
At bottom, she still had two crucial advantages: 1) me and 2) her own "never say die" determination that I came to  know so well -- and admire.
She was willing to listen...
People with problems say they want solutions... but in fact what they really want is the opportunity to vent... to bewail their lot in the world, do the "poor little me"  thing... then rant and rant some more. In short they don't really want a solution... they want a willing ear to chew on. But that's not how money gets made. I told Diane, who came with some of these weepies, that I'd help IF and ONLY if she would focus on a series of online business building steps, including specific traffic building exercises she would need to do daily to grow the all-important traffic.
She agreed... and she kept her bargain, although it was sometimes tough for the lady when I absolutely refused to listen to items from the latest installment of "As Diane's World Turns..."
She needed traffic... traffic...more traffic... and even more traffic. And that was where I kept our focus, with lessons on the effective use of traffic exchanges, safe lists, forums, and article directories where you develop crucial back links. An avid learner, she did herself the favor of listening to what I said, asking intelligent questions, and doing the tasks. To her surprise (but not mine) she began to generate traffic at once... and more each day.  Especially as she began to understand and master one absolutely crucial traffic generating tool, which in due time she was to make her own traffic- generating machine. This marvel was the blog...  and right from the start, it proved to be her forte so much so that I quickly saw that Diane Dorhn was not just going to master the blog, develop huge daily traffic from it... but become one of the true blog titans of the 'net. Now she had my full attention, and we worked together less as teacher and student... but rather as 2 colleagues not just interested in how far the lady could take this.... but obsessed with the desire to raise Diane and her traffic to hitherto unimaginable heights. We were rockin' and rollin'...  Note for the blogless.
If you're an online entrepreneur of any kind, trying to get huge daily traffic, you MUST have a blog. This is not negotiable. You see, a blog is your personal communications vehicle. It enables you to present and deliver your message. It is 100 percent you, 100 percent of the time. Say what you want, say it just the way you want.
The key to a blog is ensuring that it offers readers the best possible content. "Content is king," Bill Gates famously said. That's the kind of content you must have for your blog; content that gets people to read -- and respond. Diane was fretful about this point. She worried that she have the time or skills to produce the high level content her blog and readers required daily. What could she do?
That's where I really entered the picture, as an essential element of her success... for you see, I produce the champagne of blog content, and I produce it in 27 information categories from politics through ecology and just plain good stories; my content is sophisticated, readable, intelligent, timely, well written... and (most significantly) it gets astonishingly high reader response, as Diane came to know at once; right from the start these articles (and I write a new one each day) generated responses... lots and lots of them.
Thus, each day Diane starts by selecting the article of the day, the article that will anchor that blog and be its focus.
Then she follows a daily regime which she has followed, refined and developed over time. It goes like this:
1) Check Kstats first thing. Additionally check it several times each day to see the results on every article she has ever blogged.
2) Prepare today's article. Select it, copy to Word. Then add all the necessary videos, links, trackbacks, pictures, etc. Diane knows that even great copy is better, more arresting, with such features. (By the way she keeps all this on Wordpad.)
3) She looks up the subject of the designated article in any major search engine. She likes to do this so she can make an intelligent comment on the article.
4) Before she sends her daily blog (first thing each morning), she visits other blogs to get ideas for the improvement of hers. She never assumes she has a monopoly on this subject; she looks for what others can tell her about her blog, the better to improve it. She told me she visits between 35-50 blogs daily, to keep up on developments in the field, get ideas, inspiration, etc. I believe it!
5) She then reads through this daily blog post a couple of times looking for typos and so on. A journalist's daughter, she is a stickler for mistake-free copy... as a result her blog is clean, without the distracting errors made by other, less careful, blogsters.
6) Her blog always contains a great offer. Diane never forgets that the purpose of a blog is to make money, and so she works hard on her offers... both on the ones she makes in her blog... and the ones she makes when her readers respond. Because of the volume of her responses, she works on this for hours each day... and that really pays off...
One more thing she does...
Diane generously insists on my role in her success. She points to what she calls her "Internet bible" which contains Internet traffic, marketing and business building tips I have given her, live in my online programs and through my huge library of blog articles. She says, "When I need a  lift, this is where I go. They are priceless."
That's the woman all over...
The truth is, the person who has contributed the most to Diane's success is... Diane. She's risen from no traffic at all to getting up to 5,000 responses EACH and EVERY day, without exception. Her own personality and approach to her thousands of blog readers is what makes the critical difference. She's a small town Iowa girl and has retained the sincerity, empathy and quintessential Midwestern directness and candor of the heartland. Diane is authentic to her fingertips. She likes people; likes to help... and this shines through.
Now thousands of new people will learn about Diane and take heart if, like most online, they have had absolutely no success. That can and should stop now... for the best thing Diane can do is make you understand that the huge results she has already received are fully duplicatable and can be done off the kitchen table. Only one thing is missing from this system... and that is the great heart of the lady herself. That is all her own... and we admire her all the more for what she does with it to help so many for she remembers her roots and the help she got when she needed it most. This is why with her blog, she has not got just readers... but friends.

Want to make money online? Here's 10 Proven Ways!

In tough and uncertain economic times, people are taking charge of their economic future and turning to the Internet to earn money. The Internet is filled with legitimate ways to earn from home if you know what to look for. This article provides realistic advise on how to earn from reputable online sources and run your own profitable home-based business successfully.
Let's get started. Here's what you need to know to make money online consistently and legitimately.

1.
Do set yourself up with an online place of business - get a domain address. For $10 or so per year, it's worth it to book your own domain name. It makes you look more reputable, permanent and more accountable. Separate yourself from the sketchy programs out there by having your own domain name. Your website with a domain name is your place where you do your business and the location for all your programs, products, services or resume. If you have other websites from various affiliate programs you are involved, that's fine, you can add the links to those programs on your domain based website.

2.
Do book a website hosting account with a reliable hosting company. It doesn't matter if you use WordPress to create your site, or a Content Management System provided by your host, but DO get an account that gives you 100% control over your site to add content, pages, widgets, images, video, search engine optimization, stats tracking, sub-domains etc. The days of a 3 or 4 page bland static website are long gone. Today, website owners can (and should) add tools, gadgets, blogs and other resources on their site to make it more customer friendly, search engine friendly, and social media friendly. Effective sites engage the visitor with live chat options, video, member areas, commenting and more. If your hosting provider doesn't include site analysis and traffic tools, Google offers a free program that is very helpful for tracking important data related to your site traffic. It's called Google Analytics. Website hosting will be in range of $10 - $50 per month.

Now let's look at proven successful revenue sources.

3.
When it comes to earning from online sources here are some proven successful ways to making money online:

a) Affiliate Marketing: Affiliate marketing means that you sign up with a company as an Affiliate, refer business to those companies and you collect a commission for sales. You will be amazed at the growing number of large brick and mortar companies that offer affiliate programs. You've likely heard of Amazon but what about the Affiliate programs offered by WalMart, Pay-Less Shoes, Orbitz, Old Navy, G.I. Joes, ABT Electronics and American Express to name just a few. How each company pays commission and how much varies but with a high traffic website and precision marketing you can generate tidy income from affiliate marketing sources. Don't be afraid to look outside of recognizable retailers for good Affiliate Marketing ideas. ClickBank.com for example, allows you to promote thousands of digital products. Vendors post their digital product to ClickBank, you promote it, when a sale is made you collect a commission. ClickBank handles payments and refunds so your only job is to pick the products you want to sell, promote, and collect commission. Pick a number of solid reputable affiliate marketing programs, but only a few so you can focus on those and only those to see success. I have to include a shameless plug here for my own company, Worldprofit.com. Worldprofit includes in our Earn-At-Home Program a number of Affiliate Marketing products, reseller opportunities as well as a comprehensive sales and marketing training program. As the economy has fumbled, affiliate marketing and work at home programs such as what we offer at Worldprofit have exploded.

b) Blogging: Don't stop at Affiliate Marketing, money can be made from popular blogging sites by adding in advertising revenue from sources like Google Ad Sense, this is called Monetizing. Food bloggers, celebrity gossip bloggers, expert columnists and many more are generating sweet advertising revenue by including ads on their high traffic blogs. The ads are generated from an Advertising program such as that offered by Google and many others. They key to this revenue source is high and ongoing traffic. You will also need really unique frequently posted niche content to generate a following and get steady traffic.

c) Sale of Products: Of course you have seller options such as E-Bay for selling products either new or used. E-Bay is not a new idea for making money online but it is a source that many people have been relying on for years. Wholesale items, overstock products, collectors novelties, bankruptcy sale items, fire sale items, garage sale items - even houses - are just a few examples of what people are selling on E-Bay. Those who are reliable sellers earn status as trusted sellers and can earn significant money selling products.

d) Site Flipping: Flippa is a website that through an auction process, allows you to buy or sell complete niche websites, many with an existing customer base and verifiable traffic. If you are clever and have built up a successful online property you an sell it on Flippa. It's a similar concept as buying a home, fixing it up and selling it. In this case though you create a site for a nice market, monetize it, grow traffic, a prospect list and a customer database, then simply sell the site. For someone who doesn't have the interest in creating a site and all the work of building traffic and customers, a ready-made website can be purchased. Take a click over to Flippa.com to see new for sale listings, active listings, browse, price range, sold sites and more.

e) Freelancing: If you have a specialized skill or knowledge, have a look at freelancing sites such as Elance.com. Over 1/2 a million jobs are posted every year on Elance. This is a site where you can post your unique skills. Both companies and freelancers (called contractors) can post their jobs/skills. It's unique in that you can access specific jobs including work for programmers, writers, designers, consultants and so forth. There are so many options, take some time to review these mentioned and keep an open-mind about what is available. Other sites offering a similar service include FreeLancer.com and Freelancejobs.org By posting your profile to these sites and taking on contact work you can earn considerable income.

f) YouTube.com Not everyone is destined for instant success like Justin Beiber after simply posting a video to YouTube. There IS money to be made with YouTube, that fact is a certainty. YouTube's partner program allows you to post videos and earn revenue as your audience grows. Remember the scared baby video? What about the talking dog videos? Those videos and lots more are generating a steady source of income for someone due to the popularity of those videos. Initially the income can be very small, but if your video becomes hugely popular your commission checks will grow at the same time. Get good at it, get a following and then release videos to keep that source of income growing. Visit YouTube's Partner section of their website to read success stories and how the program works.

g) Multiple Streams of Income. Here'a final thought on earning from online sources. Multiple streams of income is the key to consistent revenue, pick a few programs or options and focus on those to EARN something before you move on to the next. Make sure you are not spread to thin and can devote adequate time to building those sources of revenue. You need to have the time, commitment and an advertising budget to promote on a consistent basis.

4.
Realize you must work your business every day to expect to see results. Don't expect overnight success, or even success after a few weeks. If you are in this for a hobby fine, but if you want to build an online business with a steady source of full time income realize that it will take time. It's a slow build and a lot of work.

5.
Understand that CONSISTENT marketing and promotion is critical to your success. Ever notice that Coke is always advertising? Coke is continually in your face reminding you they are there. They sponsor events, they run TV ads, Super Bowl commercials and taste-test booths. The reason is simple. Every business, big and small must constantly promote their product or service. Your online business is no different. Promotion is a daily task. How much you earn is directly related to how much time and effort you invest in marketing your product. Learn about the power of social media including FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg, YouTube, and so many more. If you don't have a blog get one, and post unique content daily with rich key words related to your products/services/business and include integrated links to social media for maximum exposure.

6.
Factor in that you will have to allocate and spend some of your hard earned money on advertising. Any successful business requires that you put money back into it. If you think you will build your earnings relying exclusively on free methods of advertising you will be disappointed. Yes, you can promote your business using free sites, and free services, but accompany that with actual paid ads at reputable sites. Don't limit yourself to the major search engines like Google and their Ad Words program. Also consider Safelist Advertising and Traffic Exchanges. Safelist advertising once spurned as the poor man's advertising vehicle has gained popularity and is free to get started with very low cost advertising options. Traffic exchanges work in a similar way and are worth consideration. For best results in either Safelists or Traffic Exchanges be prepared to pay for ads to see the best results. If you are on a tight budget combine both free and paid methods of advertising, and make sure you have an Ad Tracker software program so you know which ads are generating clicks and from which source.

7.
Set goals. Are you going to make $100 today? $500 this week? How much? Once you have set your goals, set your plans for how you will accomplish this. What are the daily, weekly, monthly tasks you will do to make your financial goals a reality? Don't allow your self to get distracted or pulled down with tasks that don't get you closer to where you want to be. If your day ends with no commission report or sales report that says you earned SOMETHING today, rethink your plan for tomorrow. Get up early and get busy.

8.
Have a positive attitude, I can't stress this enough. Put a smile on your face, believe, then do. In my work as a trainer and consultant, I talk to people everyday who have had mixed success in building an online business. The people I have watched grow and build their own successful business are those who think positive and take action. Don't be brought down by negative people, the know it alls, the ones that rain on your parade. Be mindful that while they are talking you down, you are doing something to improve your financial situation. Let that negativity slide off your back and propel you forward to work harder, and smarter.

9.
Accept that you will have failure. Get over it. Learn from your mistakes. Move on. If it was easy to build a successful online business everyone would be making millions.

10.
Find a mentor or training program that fits for you. The web is filled with software, e-books, training programs, webinars and more. You have all of this information at your fingertips. Find the best sources and get started. Don't make the mistake of learning, study, analyzing but never actually DOING anything. You won't find success thinking about it, success is the results of DOING something to make it happen.

Planning on making money online this year? Unless you avoid these lethal mistakes you haven't got a prayer.

By Dr Jeffrey Landt
Author's program note. Like ABBA? I do. I think they produced some of the most clever, stylish and sophisticated dance music and rhythms ever. Like their mega-hit "Money, Money, Money" (released in 1976). It's not only one of the best jump-up songs ever, but it's got a message you may have to take to heart if you're still trying (but consistently failing) to make money online.
It's this: "If I got me a wealthy man..." That's right, it may be time (and is probably way past time) to use your wiles and charm to snag a rich mate... because you're just wasting your time online...
... unless....
you take heed to the irrefutable verities about what you must know and do... and so finally turn the Internet into the cash hose it's long been for people like me, who make money online daily, while you can't even figure out who's on first.

Must avoid mistake #1.

Don't work alone. Working online all by your lonesome is just plain nuts. I credit my awesome success online to a crucial decision I made nearly 20 years ago: the overwhelming majority of online entrepreneurs need more skills -- technical, marketing, people -- than they've got. For such people (and I very much include myself) success is unlikely, even impossible if you try to go it alone. Don't.
You're going to need cutting-edge tech experts; Internet marketing experts, and yes personnel to make sales and bring in the bucks 24/7/365. Have you got this team in place? Well you'd better get it together before you waste any more time and money.

Must avoid mistake #2.

STOP thinking, STOP believing you can built a profitable online business off free stuff. You can't. Say that again: YOU CAN'T! Bite this bullet here and now, once for all. It's going to cost you money to create a successful online business; just like it costs money to establish a successful offline business.
If you've been trying and trying and trying to succeed online without investing you're probably beyond hope. But let's assume you've still got some of your little grey cells in place and functional. Use some of them to get the money you need to create a profitable online business. There's no way around it: it takes money to make money, and personally I won't even talk to the steady stream of folks who approach me without investment dollars in hand. That's the "bad" news; the good news is that it's still ridiculously cheap to start a profit-making online business that can net you the minimum 6-figure income it takes to live well these days.

Must avoid mistake #3.

Get educated about what you need to establish a money-making business online. Stop trying to "teach" yourself. If you knew how to make money online, I imagine you'd be making money, right? But you don't. And you will never know if you have yourself as your prime expert and instructor. Bluntly, you know and can do too little to justify that.
There are many fine online business-building instructors. I swear by mine: George Kosch. He's been instructing me for almost 20 years now. He's smart about what you've got to do in the constantly changing 'net environment, a superb trainer and communicator.... good looking, too. I've made out like a bandit by putting my ego where it belongs (in some closet) and LEARNING from a man who guarantees you'll make money if you follow his proven system. I did... and I have.

Must avoid mistake #4.

You don't know how to generate unlimited traffic to your site...and until you do, YOU'RE DOA. That why you must become a traffic expert immediately, if not sooner.
If you launch your online business without knowing precisely where your absolutely essential traffic will be coming from, you deserve what you get: Nada! Nothing! Zip! Yet to my utter consternation and astonishment, not a day goes by when some knucklehead tells me he hasn't got guaranteed traffic, doesn't know how to get it, but is a "survivor" who'll figure it out as he does. OMG! Such people probably believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. They are casualties just waiting to happen.
Here again I want to pat George Kosch on the back. The guy is a walking encyclopedia of each and every way that exists to generate online traffic... and trains lucky folks like me to use these every single day. He does it in an amazing program called "Home Business Boot Camp"... and he guides you (with skill and patience) to get the traffic you must have... starting today! He's got a worldwide following who swear by his methods.... as I most assuredly do myself. Do you have a George Kosch in your life? No? Then book your space in the lifeboat today... you'll need it!

Must avoid mistake #5.

It happened again just yesterday. I was counseling a gent who told me he'd bought some traffic; sent it to his home page... and didn't get a single response! What did he do wrong? Just everything...
The first rule of successful traffic and crucial list building is to direct ALL traffic to a landing page. Why? Because that's the proven way to get traffic, traffic, traffic and build the prospect lists that are crucial to online success. So, ask yourself this: do you know how to create and use landing pages? And be honest, totally honest with yourself, because if you get it wrong you're toast... (By the way, you won't be surprised to learn George Kosch -- there he is again -- writes my landing pages... and they're gold mines.)
Well, I've run out of space, with lots more to tell you, but that'll have to wait for another day. Now, I'm heading over to my favorite search engine where that fabulous dance number by ABBA is waiting for me (and you). As I listen to "Money, Money, Money" I'll know I'm the rich guy you're looking for, the guy who can give you that cushy life you'd like. But why would I want an Internet loser in my life? After all, it's a rich man's world...
